-
GIG DOCTOR provides two engineers and the recording equipment. Prices vary according to the amount of equipment needed. In bigger venues, GIG DOCTOR feeds the digital HD recorder from the venue Inline Mixing Desk (if the desk is not inline, splitters will be provided). A mixing desk for playback check and a stereo microphone for audience room sound will be provided too. GIG DOCTOR does not allow self-recording. Only GOG DOCTOR"s engineers will operate the equipment provided. On smaller situations, a mixing desk, microphones, cables and speakers will be provided. Please specify your requirements in the contact form.
AND THEN THE MIX...
-
When the gig is over, GIG DOCTOR takes the recording to its studio, where the mixing will be made. Upon previous agreement GIG DOCTOR supplies the recordings (WAV or AIFF files) to the artist for him to mix them instead. Please mention this option in case you prefer it!

LIVE MULTITRACK RECORDING
"Multitrack recording is a method of sound recording that allows for the separate recording of multiple sound sources to create a cohesive whole"
GIG DOCTOR records your songs in different channels so that every instruments is separated from the others. This way, every instrument can be treated in the studio to achieve the best sound quality.
GIG DOCTOR records up to 24 separate tracks, a huge number considering today's requirements. An average concert line up is: Drums, Bass, 2 Guitars, 2 Keyboards, 3 Backing Singers, one Lead Singer, which barely make it to 18 channels. With 24 channels there's still room for backing tracks, brass section and anything else you can think of!
GIG DOCTOR USES DIGITAL HARD DISK RECORDERS FOR BEST QUALITY!
GIG DOCTOR uses ALESIS HD24 digital Hard Disk recorder: HD24 is built exclusively for the purpose of recording music instead of data, resulting in remarkable stability and performance. HD24 enables engineers to record up to 24 tracks of high-resolution 24-bit recording at 44.1 and 48 kHz sample rates.
"If your venue is not equipped with the right microphone or desk set up, GIG DOCTOR will take care of it "
GIG DOCTOR supplies all the additional microphones for all the intruments that are not connected to the venue's desk. Some smaller venues choose not to amplify the drums, for they might be too loud. GIG DOCTOR provides you with the necessary microphones and cables to record your drums, even if they sound will not be heard in the room!
GIG DOCTOR also can supply a mixing desk for venues that are not equipped. As well as the recording, GIG DOCTOR will take care of the sound in the room.
"GIG DOCTOR supplies PA Systems for small or acoustic gigs"
GIG DOCTOR's primary intent is too achieve the best recording in any situation. But sometimes, like in very small venues or acoustic "unplugged" gigs, GIG DOCTOR can also take care of the PA System. Mixing 12 musicians in a big concert leaves no time for paying attention to the recording aspect. That's why GIG DOCTOR prefers live sound mixing only on smaller situations, where GIG DOCTOR's engineers can comfortably take care of a fewer musicians on stage as well as the recording.
